Hybrid Fyre Wins Big At International Wood Stove Design Challenge
Travis Industries’ Lopi Cape Cod Hybrid Fyre was one of 14 finalists at the first ever International Wood Stove Design Challenge hosted by the Alliance for Green Heat and sponsored by Popular Mechanics Magazine. First, a huge THANK YOU to each of you who voted for the Cape Cod in the Popular Mechanics’ People’s Choice Award. There were over 15,000 total votes, and WE WON! We couldn’t have done it without you! THANK YOU!
Christian Hale, Travis Sales Rep, and Russ McBrien, Research & Development Wood Manager, receive the People’s Choice Award. They spent 4 days representing Travis Industries in Washington D.C. educating judges, visitors, congressmen, and even some European ambassadors about Hybrid Fyre technology and the future of wood burning appliances.
This competition was bred from the need for consumer awareness on the “next generation” of high-efficiency, clean burning wood stoves. in 2011 Travis’ Hyrbid Fyre technology rocked the wood burning world, earned 3 Vesta Awards, and the Cape Cod, our rising star, officially became the planet’s cleanest burning large wood stove. This year in D.C. the technology was recognized with three mo0re first place awards and a $5,000 prize, which we donated back to the Alliance for Green Heat for their mission.
Travis’ Hybrid Fyre took First place in:
- Popular Mechanic’s People’s Choice
- Lowest CO (Carbon Monoxide) Emissions
- Market Appeal
The best part…we didn’t design anything new. No prototypes or fancy re-engineered models were submitted to the competition. We entered with an amazing technology that’s been on the market for almost 2 years. Hybrid Fyre changed the way we think about wood stoves. It started a revolution and created a new standard in wood stove design, efficiency, and technology.
