The Big Green Egg Cast Iron Dutch Oven is ideal for cooking stews, soups, chili and even cobblers. Works with the X-large, large and medium EGGs. The Big Green Egg cast iron dutch oven holds 5 quarts or 4.7 liters of your favorite recipes. The Dutch Oven comes with a flat bottom to sit right on top of the cooking grate. The dutch oven can be used to cook with direct flame or paired with the plate setter for slower cooks. To cook desserts, use the dutch oven with the plate setter to prevent sugars from burning. If you enjoy smoky flavors, cook your soups, stews and chili with the plate setter to develop richer smokier flavors. The Big Green Egg Cast Iron Dutch Oven can be used to turn your Big Green Egg into a fryer. Simply place your dutch oven filled half way with canola oil on top of the stainless steel grid and let your Egg heat up to 350 or 400 degrees. Fry chicken, pork, fish and pastries right on your Big Green Egg.
