Plank cooking is a unique culinary method which originated with the Native Americans. The longstanding tradition of cooking on a plank has evolved into a popular at home grlling techinque that adds a whole new dimension to your grilling experience. Big Green Egg Grilling Planks also come from certified sustainable and food grade sources and are select cut for optimum flavor. Two extra thick planks per package, 15” / 38 cm.

Rinse and soak plank in water, wine or other flavored liquid for at least 30 minutes, but not more than 4 hours. Heat your grill to 300 degrees. Place a soaked plank on a tray on the hot grill and close the lid. Turn the plank every two minutes, heating each side twice. This only needs to be done with a new plank. Place your food on the plank and close the lid. Reposition the plank on the grill if the plank gets too hot and starts to burn. Cook food until done. Your plank can be used several times. Clean with soapy water, rinse thoroughly. Allow the plank to air dry and store. Soaking before each use will extend the life of your plank.
