Description

Creosote Control Fire Brick

Creosote Control Fire BrickCreosote Control Fire Bricks are made with 100% all natural wood. Each tightly compressed fire brick contains special chemicals that help slow creosote buildup; helping prevent chimney fires and extending the time interval between cleanings.

Directions to use Creosote Control Fire Brick: Start with a clean flue. If you are unsure of the condition of your flue, have it inspected and cleaned by a certified chimney sweep. After the morning or evening “warm-up” burn, load the firebox with cordwood and add one of the Fire Bricks to the new cordwood. Burn as usual; this “slow-burn” allows for a slow release of the chemical additives needed to control creosote buildup.

To keep your wood burning appliance in good condition, follow these guidelines:

For Fireplaces

Use 1 piece of Creosote Control Fire Brick every 30 fires.

For Wood Stoves and Wood Stove InsertsĀ

Weekend use: 1 piece every 6 weeks

1 fire per day: 1 piece every 4 weeks.

Continuous fire: 1 piece every 2 weeks.

Caution

If your appliance has a smoke shelf, baffle, catalytic combustor or offset, it is imperative to inspect and clean the item/area before using this product and thereafter at least once a month. Failure to do so may result in an accumulation of creosote flakes that could ignite and cause a chimney fire.

Note

The effectiveness of the Creosote Control FireBrick is dependent upon the type of appliance being used, the type of wood being burned, the dryness of the wood and the type of fire being maintained. You may need to use more, or less, of the Creosote Control FireBrick depending upon these variables.
