Creosote Control Fire Brick
Creosote Control Fire Bricks are made with 100% all natural wood. Each tightly compressed fire brick contains special chemicals that help slow creosote buildup; helping prevent chimney fires and extending the time interval between cleanings.
Directions to use Creosote Control Fire Brick: Start with a clean flue. If you are unsure of the condition of your flue, have it inspected and cleaned by a certified chimney sweep. After the morning or evening “warm-up” burn, load the firebox with cordwood and add one of the Fire Bricks to the new cordwood. Burn as usual; this “slow-burn” allows for a slow release of the chemical additives needed to control creosote buildup.
To keep your wood burning appliance in good condition, follow these guidelines:
For Fireplaces
Use 1 piece of Creosote Control Fire Brick every 30 fires.
For Wood Stoves and Wood Stove Inserts
Weekend use: 1 piece every 6 weeks
1 fire per day: 1 piece every 4 weeks.
Continuous fire: 1 piece every 2 weeks.
